Meeting Date 10/12/16
Attendees: Dr. Stennett, Aimee Cordero-Davis, Karen Hall, Jim Ice, Aaron Cook, Stephanie Glazer, Nzingha Uhuru, JoAnn Ross, Godfrey Torac, Aleina Smith, Deb Killmeyer.
*There was some confusion about the meeting. It was clarified that this was not the Graduate Assembly, but the Student Assembly (SA).
*Nzingha Uhuru was elected chair.
* A cohort social with faculty was suggested
* There was a recommended lecture series-last year- the Career Development Organization spoke. Perhaps Schwahn for this year.
* There may be a need for a virtual meeting if many people find it challenging to get to campus
- We should meet once/month. Maybe Thursday or Saturday
* We need to elect officers for Treasurer, Secretary and other officers
- We should have a representative from each cohort
- Officers should have a job description
- Create a charter
- Have community group co-sponsor our events
- The committee should only react to ideas from SA leadership, not meet to create the ideas.
- Refer to last year's agenda on how to proceed
Activities
- Toastmasters
- Symposium
- Presentation of White Papers
- Collaborate with other local universities to present data
- Share topics of research
- Integrate with Point Park's Ph.D. program
- Roles in writing

It was also noted at the meeting that a representative from the SA should sit on the committee to hire new staff/faculty.
