Xabier Olazabal , who until now held the positions of Co-Chairman of Publicis Groupe Spain and Country CEO of Publicis Communications, leaves the company by mutual agreement . After 17 years at Publicis Groupe, Olazabal leaves the French communication group to start new personal projects. "These are new times for new models ," says the professional, who after so many years and so much intensity, considers that it is the right time to close one stage and start the next. This departure comes after the announcement of Publicis Groupe's new management team for Iberia, which will be under the direction of Marta Ruiz-Cuevas, appointed CEO of Publicis Groupe Iberia in September, expanding her responsibilities as CEO of Publicis Groupe in Mexico. Ruiz-Cuevas has more than two decades of experience in the group in Spain, Mexico and the United States. Together with the CEOs of the group's creative, media and specialized agencies, she will continue to enhance the business of the group's clients and agencies. "These last 17 years have been a vital and professional experience of which I could not be more satisfied and proud ," says Olazabal.

After passing through the Marketing Services Department of Airtel (today Vodafone Spain), where he was responsible for such well-known campaigns as "Hello, I am Edu" , he joined Young&Rubicam , where he founded AdHoc Young&Rubicam for the comprehensive management of the Telefónica account. In 2004 he joined Grupo K Arc , the relationship and direct marketing agency of Publicis Groupe, which gave rise to Publicis Dialog and its digital marketing division, Publicis Modem. He was appointed CEO of the agency and Global Lead Account for Telefónica in 2006, being primarily responsible for the global launch of Movistar's new brand image and subsequent client coordination in more than 15 markets. In 2012 he managed the integration of Publicis Groupe's digital units in Spain , Wysiwyg, Razorfish and Publicis Modem, to create the first Spanish digital agency, of which he was appointed CEO that same year. He later assumed the position of CEO of Publicis WW Spain, a period in which he led the integration of the different agencies and services to create a unique holistic offer in the Spanish market. After the retirement of Miguel Ángel Furones, in 2017 he was appointed Country CEO of Publicis Communications Spain and head of all Publicis creative units in Spain : Publicis WW, Leo Burnett, Saatchi&Saatchi, Nurun.
